Do I have to have WiFi though? Because I'm using somebody elses right now.

Basically what I want to do is plug my phone into my computer and have internet.

yeah thats exactly what he does. he just plugs it in and turns the hotspot on. but his is rooted so he doesn't have to pay for it. so basically you tether it like normal but its free.
