Don't think new iPhone will be 4G compatible, US+European networks are not developed enough to the demand that a 4G iPhone would create.
Just look at 3G network in major cities , it still cant cope with demand at times.

I've never downloaded an update for my iPod(I've had it since Christmas) because I was afraid it would mess my music up, and I don't have the songs backed up.


Are the updates worth it ?

Depends what iOS you're running. Anything lower than 4.2.1 then yes.

4.2.1 and higher nooooo.
