The first one was an FPS I think. Then they had a complete change, replaced the engine and shit... Now it's an open world shooter. Haven't played any so not sure if it's good.

But if I were you, I'd buy Hitman. It's some great strategic stealth action type shit...

As far as I know, Far Cry only became open world starting with the 2nd game. The first one was straight FPS.

The map is huge, the game play is incredible and the scenery is incredible. Definitely on par with RDR as one of my faves. Gotta love racing through the jungle on a quad being chased by pirates or a tiger

Now days, because everyone owns a Next Gen console every one thinks they are bad ass at any game they play. The truth of the matter is gaming will never be the same as it used to be. It used to be quite an exclusive club when talking about hardcore gaming because even though everyone still had consoles back then PS1 etc Multiplayer wasn't available for them where as PC gamers like myself back in the day all gamed online, on legendary games such as Return To Castle Wolfenstein (Which I still play), Quake, IGI, etc.

But now days gaming is so big and common, not just among geeks that everyone like I said thinks they are amazing! I'm not complaining though, games have evolved beautifully and I can't wait to see what the next 10 years hold! But mass online gaming and next gen consoles has ruined it a bit! Still PC gamers tend to keep separate from Consoles gamers now days!

Nothing like the feel of a mouse and keyboard especially when playing FPS for precision and effectiveness!
