Lady Gaga Sued for $5 Million | HIP HOP MAYHEM
Lady Gaga now has to answer to an expensive accusation stating that she scammed her own Japanese earthquake charity. According to 1-800-LAW-FIRM, a class action lawsuit was filed against the pop singer claiming she took money from the sale of her We Pray For Japan wristbands instead of directing them to victims.
"I'm suing Lady Gaga simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for," says Ari Kresch, an attorney for the Michigan-based law firm.
Gaga charged $5 for each wristband plus $3.99 for shipping and handling and $.60 for taxes, but the law firm says she inflated costs, kept the extra money and refused to say how much of the money goes to the victims of the disaster.
