DO NOT confuse that movie's portrayal of bane for the real bane. in the comics he is a criminal genius who was born in to confinement to serve the rest of his father's sentence. he broke out and later outsmarted as well as out fought the batman leading to bane breaking the batman's spine, causing bats to hand over his cape to someone else.

in batman & robin, he is just a henchman who can't even make whole words, it was ridiculous. /rant

i hope so. the last scene in the teaser trailer (the real teaser, not the fake one above) shows batman looking pretty beat up and backing up while bane seems to be coming toward him pretty confidentally, so i can only hope.

and i hope it happens early on, so it blends well with the theme of "rising".
