The easiest way to know, have you updated your PS3 recently? or have you been on PSN recently?

As of right now, there's no PSN use. If 3.70 gets modded, then you'll be able to play right now, but currently, you can't play online and some newer games don't work, because they're fixed for 3.60+. But, new fixes are coming out daily and there's always the huge possibility that we'll be able to play online again.

Yeah, then you're probably on 3.60 or 3.70, so right now, you can't jailbreak your PS3. But, if they happen to make a cfw for 3.60, then you should be able to downgrade, mod it and access PSN.

But there's still hope. Some modder's working on a new cfw, it should hopefully be here before Halloween, so it might be here before the big ass game rush that's in November.

Nice thread I love my emulators good old N64 etc...

Tbh I didn't wanna MOD my ps3... But I may still consider it, coming from some one that has done it first hand, can ya maybe do a short list of benefits and disadvantages of doing it?

Thank ya! and yeah, emulators are amazing. I recommend Dolphin if you wanna play some Wii or PS2 games.

and hm, the pros are:

Free games
More functionality (No more cinavia)
You can coldboot your PS3, meaning the starting screen can be customized.
FREE GAMES.
Emulators. <3
Homebrew.

Cons:
No PSN.
Most newer games don't work.
Can be kinda complicated.

That's pretty much it.

Hmm well the complicated part I will be fine with as for PSN and the most newer games don't work that kind of thing is what holds me back I think I'll just stick with spending a fortune on games haha! Cheers for the info!
