For me,it must have a good concept,deep and powerful lyrics,dope beats,no mainstream shit and maybe a story.
Also I must be able to listen atleast 80% of the album..
ppl have different opinions on what's a "classic".
I would say if the production is on point, and nothin' is half assed. The lyrics gotta be well-thought through and every track gotta be thought through when it comes to topic, meaning, hook, verses etc.
to me it has to have that old sound. idk. it's all in production for me. if it sounds like it was recorded in 2001 it's prolly classic in my mind.
I know it's a "how do YOU define a classic rap album", but that's just plain stupid.
You just think the word classic means old school music or what smh. To me, MBDTF is a classic and that ain't no old-school sound, but neither mainstream. So to me you gotta be creative and unique to make a classic.
