UK citizens! Attack the Block?!

just finished this movie and i was absolutely blown away. started off a little cheesy, but once you get past that it is a very entertaining and original take on the alien invasion genre. it was funny, bloody, suspenseful and had a good sense of camaraderie that most movies can't stick. overall, just sick.

i just wanted to make this thread because i know it won't hit the masses over on this side of the planet, and if it does, it won't be for a while, but it is literally the best movie i've seen this year.

I saw the trailer a while ago and it just seemed a little cheesy to me.
But i might go and watch it see how it goes.

Yeah the only reason it got okay/good reviews is because it was one of those lottery funded movies (like Adulthood/Kidulthood was) and so it was all like young amature actors given a chance to shine through and tbh I just kinda cringed and laughed throughout at how shitty it was!

Mmm. I'm not surprised. When all the kids in my school started going "BRUV ATTACK DA BLOCK IS HAARRRDDD" I suspected it was trash.

it's meant to be pretty cheesy, as all the movies from those guys are (shaun of the dead, hot fuzz). i don't think it's gotten a single bad review yet over here in the US, but ya'll might have higher standards over there. all in all i thought it was pretty damn entertaining.

Yeah I liked Shaun of the Dead and Hot fuzz. I know a guy who did some of the effects on Shaun of the Dead.

Don't know about this though... I guess I'll see it... eventually... somehow.
