LOL....Phone Problems.

Alright, so last night at work I found a BlackBerry Bold, I tried to turn it in but no one was claiming it, so I brought it home completely wiped it and made it my own. I started using BBM & whatnot but then it stopped working and I realized the person who own's the phone must've de-activated the SIM Card or w.e and now I can only use Wi-Fi until I get my own SIM Card.

So I basically made this thread to see if it was possible to use BBM over a Wi-Fi connection?

I used to have a Curve and I'm pretty sure you can't do it over wifi. It might be possible but I doubt it

I don't think you can use over wifi,
Why not just buy another Sim Card?
They're only like around 20.

You can use BBM over wi-fi however I'm certain you still require a BlackBerry Service Plan for it to work at all wi-fi or not.

PS. next time you find a mobile..snap the sim card instantly

You put a new sim card in though? And is the sim card the right network?

The phones probably been blocked... If you steal a phone you gotta put the simcard from that phone into another phone so when the service provider blocks it they block the imei number of the phone the sim was last in.. Trust me I'd know lol and the only thing you can do is sell it abroad where it won't be blocked

Naw, I haven't put a new Sim Card in yet...still the owner of the phone's one is in there. lol

Yeah you should've snapped the sim card straight away because now the network has blacklisted the blackberry so I guess you're fucked jsut so ya know in the future, always snap the sim card the second you "find" something so it can't be traced
