Why is so that life pretty much stops in the UK when there's under 5centimeters of snow ?

I don't know about life over here lol, but it was because the pitch was frozen, so it's impossible to play on it.

No, not really, we go skiing or skating or just outside. I meant the weather in general, not sports. And I consider the weather good when there's 30cm of snow, bad if it's less than 10cm in the winter .

Like everytime you get even just a little bit of snow, you got like airports closed, kids don't have to go to school(cause it's considered life threatening lol, somebody who lives in England told me this), all those car crashes. I'm not dissing or anything lol, just wondering

Honestly I've lived in England all my life and I've never not been to school because of the weather and I've only known airports to close when the weather is really bad (not from a little bit of snow), and even that is rare.
