I don't want it to happen, but they say this way leaks and illegal downloads gonna be canceled and so the economy of a lot of stuff (music, entertainment, games.....ect) is gonna be better.

So I guess as we are losing, there are done ppl with jobs winning in this situation.

This is all very stupid. The music,film and game industry dont understand that all the sites that they are trying to censor are actually helping them. They dont understand that when a song is on youtube,it will be alot of views and then it will become popular if people keep streaming it and uploading it. Thats how these things get popular. Same with games and movies.

there is no way piracy can be stopped, and that's a fact. there will always be places in the farthest reaches of the internet where you can find absolutely whatever you want, no matter how legal or illegal it is. you think we can put the country on the entertainment industry's back and hope what they want works out for all of us? no.

we will be put on the same type of server which was first used by countries like afghanistan who severely limit what we can see. forums like this? gone, because of simple things like .GIFs, .zips, .rar and even simply because lil wayne is all over it.

any site you go to to get music or stream tv shows/movies will be gone, and all of the "artists" (rap/gfx/otherwise) will have their work taken down if it has to do with somethign already copyrighted (whoever makes song/single covers? whoever likes to rap over other people's beats?)

shit's serious, time to do something.

& yes, those of you outside of the US will be affected simply because america dominates the interwebs.

SOPA has been pulled, cancelled, but PIPA is being voted on on the 24th. find a petition and do something.

There is already a bill that protects these companies; it's called the DMCA. This bill is going to pass, no doubt. Our very own Congress voted for NDAA and Obama signed it, which is much worse than this bill.
