I feel you, I'm a teen but if didn't get a job I wouldn't have any extra things. All these shoes I have I had to work for, my mother isn't gonna buy me this shit. A few years ago when I was 12 I use to wonder how everybody got the new Jordans and why I couldn't. Niggas were coming into class with new shit every day and new phones and shit, and it made me jealous , so when I turned 15 i got a job at Stop & Shop and bought a whole bunch a shit. Then I realized I had to help with the bills and shit so at the end of the day I don't have money to spend for myself.

Sadly my parents are like this, my little sister is 11 and she has the new iphone 4s, wears yoga pants and calls lil boys her boyfriends, which are several little boys.

You're looking at this in a really one sided way. Who's to say that those kids didn't earn those things ? I'm not saying they all did, but in a fair light it's a possibility that some earned these items. I personally don't enjoy items as much if I don't think I've earned it, but at the same time my parents have raised me to earn what I own. If I don't do good by them, to others, to myself, and in school I don't get or deserve a damn thing. I've been raised well enough to not have to worry about this though because they taught me to do right. A lot of people from early generations would say, " we didn't use all of these devices, we always went outside, etc. " The truth in this matter is that it was an completely different time. If you were born in the 80's did you even have the chance to have an iPod ? No. Were the few games you had as extravagant as the PS3 & Xbox ? No.
I'm only 15, but I truly dislike comparisons of generations. To address the earlier posts in this thread, originality still exists. If you're searching on Tumblr & Twitter I honestly don't know what you expect. I feel like I stand as an original, the only person with my name, the only person with my body, the only person with my mind, me.

I'm 19, so I'm a teenage adult.

but yeah. I was never spoiled in the least. got my 1st smartphone and laptop when I was 17 (still have both). Then I flunked out of college, and live in my own apartment...

back then, Walkmans and Super Nintendos were the iPods and Xbox 360's of the day. Cost about the same then too.

When I was 13 and kids had flip phones I thought that was "spoiled".

In 30 years (hopefully), I'll say 16 years olds with flying cars are spoiled. That'll probably be then norm then...

But really though, I dislike this too. Society has changed the culture for young people and it really sucks. Kids now a days are so materialistic and don't realize that you need more than just cool belongings.

I buy fake beats from china for 80 bucks, and sell them locally on craiglist to people in my town for 250-300 and make like a 200 dolla profit and just spend money on food and gas and sometimes i take ma bitch out, but thats it.

Hehe my 8y old has nagged me for an iPhone for about 3 months now. My responce? HELL NO U aint getting that sence U cant even keep track on where U place your "normal" toys. I did how ever give him a stoneage normal cell and told him to use that with care in we will later on if he can be responcible about it, And ye its different times indeed.

Have a few memorys of my moms nagging about TV ruining kids when I was a youngster ^^

Ah hell no. I can not be the only woman out there looking for a guy that "sticks out" from the croud. Im sure I aint. Someone that dares beeing himself and beeing damn proud of it! Who the hell would wanna date a copy of someone else?! If U fall for a copy are U rly in love with him or the original?
