So you telling me you didn't see all them niggas with mohawks a couple years ago? Almost every kid in my school had a mohawk. Not even just kids in my school.
      +
Lil' Twist, Roscoe Dash, The Game, I think Soulja boy had one, Kanye West, I think Kid Cudi and Diddy had one, Chris Brown had one; to name a few

Don't really care though. Our kids and grandkids would come up with something to replace "swag" anyway.

Re: Is The Swag Era Over?

Unfortunately, the Swag era is not over. Not while these wack ass rappers still get recognition and fame for making songs that glorify it (great example: 2 Chainz. Although he's been around for years, now everybody and their momma is calling him the hot rapper of the moment. He's just another Gucci/Waka/Shawty Lo to me. But because a new song featuring him comes out every two days, he's the best... fuck the world).

"You see before there was swag, there was style. Not only did Brooklyn go hard, but so did the other boroughs and even other states. Somewhere along the line swag appeared and became synonymous with an “overly confident” flow. To the point where the MC makes me think he or she is too good to be doing this. Sorry, not interested. Give me an MC that makes me believe he or she is hungry and into their craft (see LL “Rock The Bells”). Not someone making me feel like they’d rather be doing something else besides rhyming (see LL “Headsprung”)." - DJ Eclipse

But anyway, if nowadays people payed any attention to the lyrics and message of the songs, this one right here would have killed the Swag era for good:

EDIT: I'm having a lil trouble embeding the video.
EDIT2: I can't even post a link... SMH I've been away for too long. The song is David Banner - Swag

That was 11-12th grade. My school had like 10-20 black people out of 1600. 1 or 2 had mohawks...

              might explain a bit...

Swag has always and will remain in the rap game. Lol swag is just your demeanor, it's how you flow it's how you act.

But recently yelling swag a few hundred times makes your actual swag seem...well swag?

Yeah I guess it does. My school was/is 99% black. Back in '09/'10 there were 7 Caucasians at the most. It's still only like 10 now though lol.

I was never on that mohawk shit though. I hated and still hate it.

Now that I think about it we were talking about two different types of mohawks

I think you were referring to something like this:

That's not what I was talking about the whole time lol. I haven't seen that since 2000 either
