In my country it's a good deal to buy the slim 320, rather than the 160.
I got the 320, it's always good with a lot of space for things like a ps3, pc etc.

Naw I never felt like I needed one tbh, since most of the games are also there for PC...plus PC > consoles IMO (better graphics, mouse aiming etc.)

But the Uncharted saga makes me regretting not having one lol
