lol I wasn't tryin to discredit Bob, it was a debate on whether I should put Jimi=Bob, but i put > instead, I just like Jimi better, it's pure preference, but there's a reason Jimi is named the best guitarist of all time,

Oh I know you wasn't but I didn't know you were basing it on personal preference over facts. Bob done way more than Jimi, who you like more, of course that falls down to preference.

Politics in Jamaica back in the day were like a east and west confrontation between two parties. Bombs were going off, people getting killed in Kingston... Gangs, the lot. JLP & PNP.

One of the party leaders asked Bob to do a free concert but basically tricked him into doing it because it was gonna help promote his party and he put up elections very soon after the announcement of the concert.

Certain people wanted to stop it being done (from the other party thinking bob was supporting the opposite, when he supported neither) so they tried to kill Bob at some rehearsals. He still performed and smashed it, but then soon after the shooting left Jamaica to London in the late 70s.

Meanwhile in Jamaica the political gang voilence was getting worse (things were really bad around this time). The government was trying to get Bob back to Jamaica because they believed he had the power over the people to heal the whole nation. A peace concert was put in place with Bob headlining after he agreed to come back.

Whilst he performed he got the two leaders up on stage and actually got them to unite and shake and hold hands above him whilst he performed and spoke 'love, prosperity, be with us all, jah rastafari'...

He was able to achieve something like that... Thats unreal. What he accomplished and did for that country.
