iTunes Problem With Redeeming

It's not letting me even get to the point where I can put the code in. It's on the home page of the iTunes store, and to the right I click "Redeem" and a message pops up saying we cannot complete your iTunes Store request, an unknown error has occurred".

I thought the problem with my problem could be the version, but I don't know the version and I went to Apple's site to see if I could download the latest iTunes and there wasn't a link.

Try redeeming it on your phone or iPod if you have either.
