Apparently the Assassin you will be playing as goes by the name of Edward Kenway who is rumoured to be Haytham Kenway’s father, a character from AC3. So despite the game being called AC4 it’s looking like it’s going to be a prequel to AC3.

I started getting bored with the very fast release of all these Assassin Creed games, especially when it come to Revelations, which I am ashamed to say took me a whole year to get round to purchasing and playing. This will be the 5th game in the series within 6 years, which quite frankly is a lot of games for that time span. I personally get much more excitement when I don’t hear about a follow up for a longer period of time, it makes you much more anticipated to play a game that you haven’t been consistently fed for the last 5 years.

Trailer Premiere is in 4 days - March 4th.

LOL at all y'all saying shit like Ubisoft ruined the series... They maybe trying to suck up all our money, but they're doing it the right way.
What makes me mad is that instead of a unique modern character replacing Desmond, we're playing some random researcher guy

Gonna be bad ass thats for sure. I wasn't digging AC3 as much as AC2/Brotherhood but I got a feeling this one will be dope!
