Like I said, I don't think it's good to encourage something that encourages a slave morality. In religion, you are restricted by the doctrines passed down through the centuries--as if any prophet could have envisioned what the world would be like today.

I'm not talking about the Big Bang, but even if I was, there's far more evidence to suggest there was one than there is to suggest there is a god (note I'm not captalising "his" name thus not giving "him" the praise he asks for).

People can believe what they want to believe; I personally think living in a Darwinian society would be a bad thing, but that doesn't mean the facts shouldn't prevail. (I'm sure you'd look at somewhat strangely if they said they believe in Joe Pesci. But believing in Joe Pesci is no different than believing in god. I could pray to either of them, and neither of my requests would be fulfilled.)

And when I said people kill in the name of religion, I'm saying people kill in the name of religion. There's a difference between an atheist killer (Hitler, Stalin) and one who kills in the name of atheism (I can't think of a single person).





Side note: I just realised that the 10 commandments is such a genius move. I mean, it could all be condensed down to 3 or 4 commandments, but that's not frightening. The big bad 10, however, really makes people nervous.

The way to be right with God in every religion is by earning your way. It is based on works, not grace. He gave us the freegift of salvation if we choose to believe in Jesus.

This is the difference between religion and TRUE Christianity. There is no checklist or list of rules that you must follow. It is ALL about your relationships, vertical and horizontal. There is no rhetoric or rituals that have to be practiced. Believe that Jesus Christ came to earth and died for your sins, accept his FREE GIFT, let God help you to love Him and love others.
