The First Amendment requires that public school officers must maintain a neutral policy in their therapy of religion. Schools cannot show hostility or favoritism toward or against religious movement, including prayer. However, a religious task sponsored by the govt is forbidden by the First Change, but religious activities that are started by a private person are covered. In essence, religion can neither be fostered nor precluded in the public school setting.
