1. I beg you to go to an established employer in America, present them with your resume and say you took some free courses online and that is why you should be a: lawyer, doctor, teacher, nurse, lab assistant, surgeon, engineer, politician, accountant, financial analyst, etc. They will laugh in your fucking face.
I somewhat agree with you with the power lying within the knowledge and not the degree, but you need a degree to get anywhere with that knowledge. I will have a pretty powerful degree in software engineering, but that won't get me anywhere if I don't actually know any programming languages or I don't having programming experience. Luckily I do because of my university education.
2. I don't think anyone thinks you sit around smoking weed and listening to "Gansgter Rap" because you are too good for that shit. You sit around browsing the internet for conspiracy theories that will help keep you relevant on a Lil Wayne fan forum.
3. Yes I am paying for a degree, but I am also paying for the opportunities that the degree and being at university comes with. It is because I'm at university I am able to join teams where I am able to design and engineer formula-one style race cars and compete with them internationally. It is because I'm at university that I can design one of the biggest programming competitions in Canada and network with some of the biggest software companies in Canada and the US. It is because I'm at university that I can take part in a co-op program that has helped me get a job every summer of every year, in my field doing coding, paying at least 20$/hour. It is because I'm at university that I can get an internship next year for 16 months programming for a company that will pay me 25-35$ an hour and will probably be hiring me immediately after I graduate. It is because I'm at university that I will get my Professional Engineer's Licence and will be able to be a professional engineer in Canada (and other countries that accept PEO designations).
Deion, can you say you can do that stuff because of your online courses that do not offer any degree?
If I didn't go to university for software engineering, I'd be stuck back in my hometown, working at Staples as a computer salesman making minimum wage.
Because I went to university and took part in co-op and internships, I will be graduating with zero debt, with a decent enough surplus to buy a new car.
4. Only chumps pay for textbooks in university. Everyone downloads them for free.
5. A lot of engineers are fortunate enough for their companies to pay for their Master's degree, even though I probably won't want one. I'll have a nice enough job as a software engineer.
6. Isn't that called Socialism, Mr. Anti-Obama ?
And lol at Libyan education system, sorry if I offended any Libyans on these forums. I would never go to fucking Libya for a paid degree. Maybe to France if they still do that today, but never a war ravished nation.
7. I do not feel that I am better than anyone because I go to university. There are loads of people at my university that are dumb as shit. They are mostly in the Arts/ Social Science/ English/ Non-Science areas (again apologies for anyone on these forums I offended). I actually met someone that worked for GitHub (large software company) that started working in the software sector right out of high school, he didn't need to go to university because he was too smart already and had the skills needed.
People like you like to get things like this twisted. There are people in this world like the man I met, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerbug that dropped out of college and became extremely successful. They dropped out, or didn't go because school was too easy for them. I highly doubt that college was too easy that you dropped out Deion.
Also people that start their own businesses, learn a trade, go to college for technician studies are all very valuable and they are no less or more valuable than a university educated person in the sciences.
Going on websites like those you posted do not make you successful, especially if you are taking Spanish lessons. Hey maybe if you learnt some Java or some Fluid Dynamics on the site, you might make some real use of it.
Last point, I know you can't do probabilities to the level of people that study them in college. I will show you some questions if you wish to challenge me on that.
