  • For anybody who's good with computers, what does this mean?

I've recently rebooted my computer. So I tried to download iTunes again but this happens. What the hell does this mean!

And if this helps, I got this computer in like 2002 or 2003. I don't know, something like that.

You need to go to microsoft.com and get the service pack 2 or newer(That's what SP2 means) or the program cant work....

Edit, I think this is it:

Ok, well MsStar97 when I download the SP3 they're just useless files that are something like 400 KB. They don't do anything.

Not sure but try right clicking on the .exe file.
Look for the tab that says "Compatability"
In the first box check the "run this program in..." and choose SP2 if you have it.
Click ok at the bottom to save the settings.

Skim: Can you not type in system restore in "run" and get it? If not you can find it doing a search or in your windows explorer. You'll needed to of had save points to restore to though.

SP3 needs to have something else done to it I think, but I may be wrong, you'll have to read on the Microsoft site what to do. But just try a reboot of your machine first, that may do the trick

And Skim, here is the instructions:

Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore, Restore to an earlier time, Select your restore point, If a message appears click OK, A confirm screen will display just click on next, the comp will then restart, completion screen will be displayed after log on click on OK.

That's everything It may take a while to restore though depending on spec. etc. And also you must be logged on as an Admin to be able to do this

Ok, well turn on your 'automatic updates'

                  "Turn on Automatic Updates:
The best way to obtain Windows XP SP3 is to turn on the Automatic Updates feature in Windows XP. To turn on the Automatic Updates feature, follow these steps:
-Click Start, and then click Run.
-Copy and paste, or type the following command, and then press ENTER:
                  sysdm.cpl
-Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to select one of the three options. We recommend that you select the Automatic (recommended) option, and then choose the time that you want under Automatically download recommended updates for my computer and install them.
                  -Click OK.
-After you turn on Automatic Updates, your computer can start to download updates automatically."

That should take care of it since it automatically will search for anything you dont have the latest for.
