but now

The National Science Foundation has committed $10 million to build robots that will act as “personal trainers” for children, in an effort to influence their behavior and eating habits.

anybody here support this?

I certainly dnt. Why can't Parents just raise kids, Im not trying to start a science vs religion debate, but man, I think the world would be better if we didnt let TV and soon, robots raise children, but instead we raised them the way it shows in the bible,
It's sick that members of the human race are willing to allow robots to raise their own children for them. That's the shit we've come to? Is this really the next generation? This is bullshit. Just something else to contribute to the diminishing values and the laziness/convenience-hungry attitude that has been plaguing America. Supporters of this will just dismiss those that don't agree with this as "old fashioned" and "one-minded", but really they're just brainwashed and believe whatever is fed to them.

If I had kids, I would never let robots raise them.

Yep this is the generation that will turn into the iRobot movie (probally without the whole evil side part taking over) but yes, our generation will be inhabitant by robots that can do minimum wage jobs, help locate criminals, etc etc

That's already started, there are a lot of jobs that are fully automated and no longer require human help. Reminds me of the Jetsons. Wasn't all the basic jobs, maid, teacher, valet, trash etc all done by robots?

Am I the only one that's bothered by this quote?

“Just like a good personal trainer, we want the robots to be able to guide the child toward a behavior that we desire,” said Brian Scassellati

but then like KidComet said u would get a nanny or a baby sitter in to help

get used to it bro technology is moving REALLY fast personally i can't wait for this age i mean computers will stay slaves to humans and not vice-versa unless we allow them to. But I think humanity will learn to prioritize and therefore not allow robots to fully take over.
