I want some help from my Weezy fam here.
I've been seeing this Indian girl a bit when I'm at university (she goes to the same school as me). This girl is fucking amazing. Like I have never felt like this for any other girl I dated, even my girlfriend in high school that I took to prom. This girl is smart (goes to school for mathematics), she's funny, she's pretty, and she's a nerd like me. And best of all, she is genuinely interested in the shit that I do for fun. She actually thinks I live an interesting life.
The reason why we really haven't gotten serious at all yet is because of her family. She is very quiet about her family and I'm in the process of learning more about her situation at home more as we go along. Her family is Catholic and has a darker complexion. She told me most of her family comes from the Indian province of Tamil Nadu.
I've been dying to take this girl out more during the summer while I worked in downtown Toronto. She lives in the east end of Toronto in Scarborough, so she would have to subway into downtown to meet me. I asked her a bunch of times to come down and hang out, and every time she says yes, but when it's time for her to come downtown, she can't because she is afraid of telling her family what she is up to. I even offered to come up to Scarborough and meet her family, but she told me that it was a bad idea. She apologized afterwards. She has been telling me bits and pieces since.
Now from what she has told me so far, it looks like she has had a brother that has been disowned by the family and now lives in the US. She told me she isn't really allowed to talk to him that much. She has also told me that her immediate family was actually kicked out of their village in India. It also looks like her some of her extended family is living in England. I want to learn more about her situation as soon as we go back to school in the fall.
I've told my family (white) about her and the sticky situation that she is in. My mother loves her. My family is totally fine with me dating a brown girl as I have uncles that have married black women, I've dated Chinese girls, etc. So I have no issues on my end. I just have no clue on how to proceed with this.
I think I definitely need to find out more about her family and whether they have some weird issues with her dating a non-Indian male or if it's religion (which might work out, my family is Catholic, I can fake being a Catholic pretty well).
What do you guys think I should do? I want her to tell her family about me, because I want to pursue something greater than just a college fling, but I don't want to ruin this girl's life if something like this were to backfire.
