  • Ask A Question

Just ask a question about anything. And if you have an answer, post it!

I guess in the wake of Ferguson, I wanted to know if racism was still prevalent in the US? In Australia, we hear horror stories but we can't really believe that African American's and others that are not caucasian could still be treated as somehow less than the white population.

As a black/asian/indian/hispanic etc person, do you still feel racial prejudice against you? I see it in Australia but it's usually limited to a few outspoken individuals, and if they do air out their racial views in public they get chastised for it..

racism is still very much alive. just because you may not do it, i guarentee you there will always be someone who does. what im saying is you and your buddies in australia may not be racist but i'm sure there are a group of buddies who are.

Racism definitely still exists. Without question. In London it's mostly a class/culture thing rather than race but then obviously you get individuals or groups who are just plain racist... And that's not just white people being racist either. But mostly the way you act/dress, and talk (your accent etc) will determine how you're treated. It's all about class in this Kingdom.

it shouldnt though.. I think there will come a time where it doesn't. It just seems far away right now. I dont understand racism. To me it makes no sense why you would treat someone or think that someone is less than you somehow based on where they came from.. Maybe cause I grew up on rap music. I think the less prevalent and conspicuous it is, the more kids will grow up completely removed from it and as such it will die out
