btw just the computer itself costs $1500. I just listed all the other shit I use with it.
I just bought a desktop for around the same. Just got into parts and shit so I don't know exactly what I have.
    Got 8gb ram with 4th gen i5, and nvidia 760x with a 128ssd

When buying Apple products you aren't paying the heavy price for the hardware, you are paying for Apple, which is why the price is so high. That being said, they are reliable. I've owned a MacBook Pro 15" for years now and I've never had a problem with it once. I upgraded the RAM myself which saved me money (one reason why I never got the Retina version because you can't upgrade it like you can the non-retina).

But I also have a Windows PC (Alienware, I've had that since I was 17, which is a good 6 years old. It's had few issues, but it still runs and is still faster that your average joes computer. It's what the majority of my work is completed on every day for work. I am looking to get a new computer this year, but I'm really split between getting a iMac or another Windows PC Tower. For the money I'd spend on iMac (£2k plus) I could get a much better system on Windows, custom built & would also have the freedom of Windows. But iMac is reliable, less chances of viruses, no tower so will free up room below my legs.

Really stuck between the two. I love the freedom of Windows and how easy it is to use for everything and anything. Mac can be a bit long and restrictive sometimes. Could always get iMac, and keep my Alienware and just wipe it and upgrade it slowly where needed to keep it as a spare, am looking to get an employee soon, so something they could use.

Honestly, Macs now days are a fashion item for a lot of people, so if you want it for that and you are happy to waste your money then do it. If you're actually going to use it productively, Development, Graphic Design, Production then it's worth it, my MacBook Pros on every single day next to my Windows PC. If you just need it for casual browsing on the net, small day-to-day tasks, then Windows might suit you better, just get a reliable brand, and go Intel based.

        Just get an all-in-one PC.
Or install Windows on the iMac in BootCamp.

No way would I get all-in-one PC PC is tower or nothing. And yeah I had windows on my current Mac but there's been problems with Yosemite and Apple letting you install Windows on their systems now. They made some changes. I'll make a decision soon I guess.
