  • How do some of y'all family feel about y'all listening to Rap music?

Let me start by saying it is not my intention to offend anyone with the following questions and statements, it is all coming from curiosity. I'm pretty sure this been asked numerous of times but I'm asking anyway. I really want people from strong european cultured families to answer. People with republican parents your answer is wanted too. Has any one personally heard a family member say Rap is one of the reasons why the crime rate is high for black people? I'm curious as to what some of you all family think because I know some of you come from middle class and rich families. I'm also curious as to why waspy people bash us black people for loving rap when their own kids and other white people is the predominate buyer of rap (some even go as far as calling it n*gger music even thought other races listen to it too). Children of republicans and middle America (rich and middle class) please answer.

My parents don't give a fuck, they accept it, but they don't like the music. My father listens most of the time to rock&roll, and my mother loves classic/pop and reggae.
When i went to university to look at a study (medicine), we (a few students) started talking about music. When i told them i listen to rap i had the idea that they didnt accept that. They acted different towards me, like they thought that i didnt fit in. I don't know but it was weird.

In not sure my parents care that much as long I don't be influenced by some of the things said in rap music

      Drugs and guns etc

But I know if I had a kid I wouldn't play hip hop music around him and I'd make sure he only listened to it at the right age (if he wanted to listen of course)

I think your parents should care more about your hygiene.

My mom likes most of the songs I play, he likes Kanye West and Lil Wayne, her fav song is Sky is the limit lol..And her ringtone is Good Morning by Kanye West She's cool with it, and I can play music as loud as I want, and it won't bother her..
My father doesn't give a fuck about what I listen lol..he's cool with it as well
And my sister is open to all kinds of music, and she's the one that introduced me to Lil Wayne, even tho I'm much bigger fan now than she was and is

Soo, they are okay about it, and they don't blame rap music for crimes and shit, but I guess that's just european culture, americans are different.. Crimes are always gonna be there, cuz it's in our nature, rap/violant games/violent movies don't make criminals and don't make people do crimes.. People are gonna do crimes with our without it

If anything, it's the opposite. People's violent crimes inspire them to make violent rap music.

Not to be stereotyping, but I expected your dad to like 70s soul and funk.
