He also noticed how your behaviour changed and how you stay inside much more now. This puts him on high alert as he thinks there is a threat to you both outside. He does it too keep you safe.

This exactly, I have six dogs and they're all on high alert right now because both my daughter and I have been home for two weeks. We had someone out here today and they all went nuts.

Dogs fine hes stopped growling & have no idea why was doing it but he's probably just go used to us all being stuck in the house haha ... Thanks to everyone for there comments & advice
