hopefully the title grabbed you, if not then i need suggestions next time on it.
anyways i've decided to make a thread where we all just post our favorite songs that are more then "guns, drugs, sex, and violence", or a song that you feel just knocks you off your feet due to the lyrical prowess and story-telling abilities of the artist/s.
* it would be a cool bonus to say why you like the song too, make it fun.
anyways i'll start this off with just a few-
The world is (below the heavens) - Blu & Exile
i like the song due to the fact that many don't know who he is, and along with the smooth voice that goes over the beat well did it in for me. he raps about how many people try to get to heaven and also says it's like an illusion made by man.
regardless he's tryin to say do good filling your mind with good thoughts with doing good, and one day you'll be somewhere better and not stuck on earth (or "hell"). He keeps his mind set that earth is just "below the heavens", not "hell".
Dayless Nite freestyle - Knaan
it's about the Dayless Nite that faces residents of his home country (Somalia). It’s the closing verse that hits the hardest here; describing the recent rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from the perspective of a Somalian who chose a life of piracy over one of crushing poverty, the rapper reminds us that the men shot in the altercation were simply human beings struggling to survive in a strife-ridden environment.
*i copied the song's plot from the site i visit, no copyright intended (though i did add a few pointers).
