I just got my W-2 and was in the middle of doing them by my own for free on the H&R Block website, until it asked for a "1099-G" form as I've been unemployed. The state website states that the form will get sent out on the last week of January, is it necessary? I had a babyboy on November of 2008, but I can't list him as he's living with his mother and I don't even have his social, will that be a problem or should I ask her for the social? We're not married. Also, do ya'll file for the state return or just federal? Last year I only did Federal as you have to pay to file for state and I didn't have a credit card.
