i have a chart. Making Models of Compounds

i need to write the correct formula, and the correct name. (i know how to do the names not the formula )
    for example :

    Na+ and CH3COO-

the name is Sodium Acetate and the formula? :[

    heres one i did :

    NH4+ and F-

    it's NH4F

(Tiny numbers are subscript .. normal numbers are upperscript? :suprised: ) help
Sodium has a 1+ charge, Acetate/ CH3 COO can also be written as C2H3O2 which is easier on my eyes, is a 1- charge.

They're both 1 charges, and cancel out, therefore It's as you wrote you...unless I have forgotten.
    I like the color contrasts

      wat did i write? ^

how about when the number is on top? like :

      Mg²+ and F-
      or
      Al(3 on top)+ and Br- ??
      :suprised:

That's the element's charge, which when combining elements into compounds you cross multiply to get the subscripts (there's exceptions).

So, Magnesium has a pos 2 charge and Flourine neg 1, therefore MgF2

Aluminum is in the 13th group, so pos 3 charge and Bromine I think it is, has a neg 1 charge, therefore AlBr3

We read that book last semester. i thought it was an okay book but i liked how the whole shooting the dog and then shooting Lennie thing related. We watched the movie too which wasn't that good. it bothered me how Lennie wasnt even that big in it lol.

                      and Na+ and CH3COO-
NH4 is ammonium with a 1+ charge, The other is Acetate with a 1- charge. When you add them together to form a bigger compound, you cross multiply the charges, so you take the 1+ of NH4 and multiply Acetate by 1, which does nothing different, making it C2H3O and when you multiply Ammonium by 1 it equals the same, so it's NH4C2H3O
