Okay, not sure if I should ask this in here, but it saves me from creating a new topic.

Not sure why, but lately my PS has been messing up. When I click on the layer I want to work on, it doesn't actually 'activate' that layer. In order for me to activate it I have to double click on it (which brings up the Layer Style) and then I have to close that.

On one click:


Double click.


It's irritating as f*ck. Anyone know how to fix that?

Happened to me a few months ago, I re-installed PS and it's been fine since then.

I'll give that a try..I reinstalled it on my Mac (haven't ran it yet), but it's doing the same thing on my PC also.

Just reinstalled it on my PC, checked & installed updates, and it's still messing up.

CS5 on both my PC & Mac. I've uninstalled & reinstalled on both, and it still does it.

CS5 on both my PC & Mac. I've uninstalled & reinstalled on both, and it still does it.

Idk if that helps but for some programs, when you uninstall them, they still keep preferences on your computer. So you might wanna uninstall and check if anything from photoshop is still left (best way is to search your whole computer for photoshop) and delete those files.
The strange thing is, that I don't think you fucked both, PC and Mac, preferences up!

It might work, tho!

Apparently the solution was not use PS for a few days.
