This is the first sig i've ever made. I don't think its that good but tell me what you think and tell what I can improve on. I don't know how to do those lighting and other cool effects that people on here know how to do either.

The background is good but as you said you don't know how to do lighting and so on.
Learn how to smudge watch some tutorials it's really helpfull and add some textures to the players if you don't have any there's a resource thread, or try Jinglewaffles thread.

And just mess around with fonts i can see you getting better at this!
