Sorry for the late feedback just seen this now, First off dont stretch text it makes it look bad also do the cover 1000x1000 always its the perfect size, Try not to use them handwritten fonts as much too it makes it look a little messy im only saying this because im doing Typography.

Try downloading Textures they help alot also download free fonts just google them look for clean fonts and clean textures, Use blending options on your textures if you want ill send you a psd. of one of my covers you can see what i mean other than that keep it up.
