Idk why an artist as big as Wayne has so many clearance issues. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy this is out but a bunch of amazing tracks left off of this and FWA that make me not as excited about the projects. Im more just to the point like oh great Wayne’s team still shits the bed AGAIN and this is one of his most iconic re releases of his career.

Its crazy how Drake cleared everything on So Far Gone even when he was beefin with Kanye but Wayne's team can't clear NC.

it's because Drake knows how to handle his releases, Wayne only raps, that's it, he doesn't care about releases, sample issues and etc. he just raps

It's crazy impressive Drake cleared Say What's Real while beefing Ye, but let's not act like it's the same thing. SFG had 6 beat jackings - No Ceilings had 15. The rest was produced by Drake's friend 40 (and 2 Boi 1da beats). Yes there was a few samples but allt easier to clear than a tape which is majority beats owned by another rapper and is already on streaming. Some artists will just straight up say no because they don't want Wayne's version taking their streams. If someone says no straight up, nothing can change that. Them even getting 11 of 18 is a great feat for what it is - there is no way they could of got it all but I am happy with what we got. Most mixtape re-releases have these issues (see Wiz Khalifa's re-released mixtapes), Drake is a one off where, benefitting from being the biggest rapper in the world, he is able to clear everything. Most people have these clearence issues. I'm happy Wayne left songs off rather than butcher them with new beats like Wiz did.

I honestly think a lot of Wayne's sample clearance issues could be to do with his reputation and association with drugs and guns and criminal shit. I remember reading about the Rolling Stones lawsuit over PWF years ago and their statement said they didn't want to be associated with "violence against women and misogyny" or something very similar, I never got that vibe from that song and the sample was actually a cover of one of their songs not even the actual band.

As far as the titles I notice that only the songs with the exact same titles as original song from original artist (Gucci Mane - Wasted, FLY - Swag Surfin') are changed. I'd imagine the original artist didn't want Wayne's coming up and taking their streams - so asked Wayne to change the names if they use their beat.

As for the 7 songs (ignoring the 3 skits) that didn't clear - they tried their best
