Don't use VLC, it's boring. Use Winamp; it can play anything you throw at it (if you download the right codecs) and it has an astonishing collection of skins.

VLC plays anything though, audio and video. But, I have a Mac so I can't use Winamp.

It has been said multiple times. We don't know. I believe someone stated most pre-orders can be started at 11:30 the night before. But don't hold me to that, as I don't know for certain. Especially because there's been no mention of it being available pre-order from iTunes.
