j cole, wale, wiz, and all UPCOMING rappers arntt competition to wayne.. rappers like rick ross & kanye west are pickin up the slack since waynes ben gone.. as long as kanye em and jay are sellin albums hip hop will be competitive

I dont think several of you guys don't understand what competition is. It's not just about selling music. I'ts about being the best. Why do you thiknk wayne retired alot of niggas during his prime because he was hungry. Wayne doesn't have that hunger, but kayne, drake, j.cole, jay electronica, wale and the whole GOOD music does. Wayne may when due to poularity but that doesn't count because mainstream is banned from hip hop socially. The street always talk. Wayne won the streets over back in 06. But he might lose unless he comes up with some clever shit and enough of that gay pop rap shit. j.cole or Drake will retire Wayne. he is my favorite but even i know when to give credit when credit is due. No one thought Wayne would surpass Jay-Z but he did.

I stand up for wayne with facts. You guys are seriously on some dick riding shit. Dedication always comes out before his albums besides Carter 3. If Dedication 4 is not on point if it's not better than D1 or D2 old wayne is gone forever just like the old jay-z. No one was fucking with Jay until wayne stepped up. Drake and J.cole are stepped up. Name a current songs where Lil wayne is lyrically gassing on Drake? You can't His only fire songs is No ceilings and thats pretty sad to say since he has so many damn songs since the carter 3. Fire Flame remix was good but not great. I expect great from wayne and i haven't great in hella long. So Dedication 4 better prove me wrong.

Everything you said was totally bull shit. Not only did rebirth got horrible reviews his lyrics were wack and half the songs on the album were not even written by him hella shanell wrote prom queen and runnin. Dedication 3 was not even that good hella auto tune and simplistic metaphors and similes. No ceilings will never be close to drought 3 and IANAHB only had 3 good songs. Not to mention wayne's mention in his current songs he doesn't care about his lyrics as long as it sounds cool. which is correct. I can qoute you like 20 songs in which he says it. Like Igot5onit said he is no longer hungry he doesn't love rap like he used to. Drake will retire him or J.cole. Unless Dedication 4 or Carter 4 is like Carter 2 on crack since he is writing now.

And i really do not agree with your cluttered paragraph, but we all have opinions here. Rebirth wasn't the best he created, but he was just fucking around with the album, getting more people to enjoy his music, because more fans = more money = more success.
D3 was actually really good, listen to it again, the full album. And in what 'current' 20 songs does he say "I do not care about my lyrics, i only want it to sound cool"?
He obviously still loves rap, because he's in the booth til 5 in the morning. What else could he be doing in there? Nobody will retire Wayne, not even himself. He'll keep rapping until he's dead.
