You can't compare the two - it's like comparing apples and oranges - they're in the same genre of music - but that's it - Wayne's been at this thing for nearly 20yrs, what he's been doing is tried and true, Kanye has only been informous for a few years - when or if Kanye even makes it even half as long as a rapper then they can be discussed with the same reverance! I highly doubt that Kanye will still be doing this in ten yrs, he's seems to value fashion, art work and hob nobbing with the rich and famous than what it takes to become a legend in the rapp world like Wayne has done at such a young age!

Right now even though Kanye is a good rapper, his anticks out way his skill - the day he stops hanging out with Kimberly Kardashian and Martha Stewart and Anna Winter(vogue editor) and discussing the latest shoes and housewares - then that will be the day that I'll take him seriously and say that he is a legend in the making - and not some idiot that dates baldheaded strippers and just snatch mics from poor little country singers - right now, he is more regarded for his informy than his artestry as a rapper!

Wtf are you talking about lol of course you can compare them. Kanye is more consistent but greatness is determined by how much of a positive impact someone has. Wayne > Kanye. * How can you say Wayne is better performer though? Kanye has some memorable performances. He just pulled out bring a marching band for a small concert... I mean there is no denying Wayne has stage presence like a motherfucker, but Ye has some AMAZING performances.
* There is no denying the 07-08 era, but right now 2011 is nothing like it. Most of the songs hes hopping are aren't even on the magnitude of the songs he was on in 07-08. Welcome To My Hood is probably the biggest one, in terms of everyone knowing it...
* And I don't really know exactly how long Yeezy's been doing it, but he was a big producer years before he started rapping. He was producing for big artists in the late 90's, which is when Weezy's career actually started to take off.

And no way Wayne is an overall better artist. Kanye is the better artist overall, Wayne is the better rapper though.

LIL Wayne- Is the Randy Moss Of Rap..... He's got that raw talent that Kayne can never match. When he's focused he puts out classics like the carter 2 (which is like Moss's TD Record)... And the excitement he brings is legendary.... Just say the name Moss....and memories shoot up like that (snaps fingers).... LIL Wayne is the ultimate weapon like Moss.... Moss came after a legend like (biggie) and put his own print on the game. i'm not sure you know what consistency means.....to say he was hot in 08-09 then hot again now is pretty much the definition of inconsistency.....and ye has won more Grammys then wayne has been nominated so how is wayne's career > ye's career.......how can you say that wayne is better artist overall? ye raps, sings, and is one of the better producers out there? wayne raps and is a mediocre at best singer...and just because ye isn't dropping a verse on everyone's song doesn't mean he isn't working with everyone......rapping wise wayne is better but career and overall artistic ability, ye > wayne.....
