    Re: Since Wayne has Ultimately

    " I'm one sellout record away from being famous/shit I guess I ain't it. "

This years old record clearly states that Wayne hasn't sold out.

Seriously, I don't think he's sold out, but I do think he's switched his fan base in his reaching to touch other genres. I just hope to see a track that nice again.

Isn't that the meaning of a sell out?

Since when are others genres off-limits to an artist? Elvis Presley has been inducted into three different music halls of fame: Rock & Roll, Country, and Gospel. He is regarded by many as the #1 music artist in American history.

Many of you seem to have a very concrete definition of an artist when it is more of an abstract concept.

I listened to Carter 2 today.

Nah. Honestly this may be biased because it's Wayne, but anyways he didn't purposely do it. He went to touch other genres, and some people weren't feeling it. He does come back to his rap roots though and still proclaims to be a rapper, so I wouldn't call it selling out.

Yo you can be a sell out and do what you did before you sold out.

Yeah, because Rebirth sold really well. It brought a minimal amount of new fans and if he was just looking for more money he could have easily come out with C4 in place of Rebirth.

Yeah but he is still standing in his pot( Hip Hop)...
Yeah he leans over and takes from their pot and add to his but he is still standing in his pot (Hip Hop)...

now sell outs are.. 50 Cent, Nelly, Flo Rida, they lost track of their roots as in they stepped foot out their pots instead of leaning and gathering fans. "Sell outs"

                          Being a sell out
Doesn't mean you sell very much -.-
It means to do anything to gain attention from people who normally do not listen to your music
