I don't know it all.. I was speaking off the general consensus in rap and what they deem classics..If you read my earlier post I think Carter II is a classic...in the hip hop scope of things is not...Im not saying they are right or I am right...I have my opinion and they have theirs...and my nationwide comment is made my reviews, list of hip hop classics and general show and debates on what is considered classic in hip hop...and yes its all opinion...you can have yours too.....I just have mine..

At the time of C2, there was literally nobody that could touch Wayne in mainstreem, that album showcases that. Just because it was not recieved by the "hip hop world" like that doesn't mean it can't be a classic. GRODT is a classic right? Is it better than C2 ? No, but the difference is 50 is from N.Y, the hip hop "mecca".

GRODT is a classic and yes it's better than C2.

carter two is most definitely classic.
and it is definitely better than grodt.
which is also a classic. but really really.
the massacre > grodt. but of course.
all the media would have you.
believe otherwise. and while that whole.
classic moment thing holds some kind of weight.

theres no way that you look at what happened on the carter two.
in terms of rapping. and everything coming together for an emcee.
and walk away from that without thinking its a classic.

the album open up with seven minutes straight.
of classic raps. with no breaks whatsoever. and continues.
at that level. and even on the singles. hes still rapping his ass off.

the only way the carter two isnt a classic.
is if your letting the source and xxl tell you it isnt.

on top of that.
there hasnt been a mainstream.
album. with as much quality rapping.
since the carter two came out.


the carter two is forever.

I live in Australia, the media play no role in influencing my taste. Hip Hop in Australia doesn't vary past Eminen, Jay, Kanye and recently (after What's My Name) Aubrey.
