there is a part in the movie where he makes a joke on what he is doing, he states "im writing a book" then continues on to say "i dont have time for that"

so if wayne is still making music plus skating... you think he's writing a book?

If I recall, Gone Till November is only a collection of letters sent to Weezy during his jail time (replies included). He probably doesn't have to do much writing for this one.
