im convinced carter four is mostly old material.

the styles dont add up.
he hadnt been really using the supa dupa flow.
all that much in the features preceding the album.
and especially after the album. the c4 is laced with them.
that'd only make sense if that style was hitting when it was recorded.
and the way he uses it on the album is really basic.
compared to how he delivers those lines now.

"eat these rappers; anthony hopkins; see that vneck thats polo"

he doesnt let hashtag or whatever just hang there.
on some ooo look how clever i am shit.
he just keeps running with it.
you dont see that on c4.
so im inclined to believe its when.
he just started using it.

a. i liked it better when you were ignoring my post.

b. for the most part this wasnt a comparison about them as rappers.
but about the perspective that comes out in the music.
its something of an outline of the emotional texture of their work.

i think thats fair game.
if you can think about each album.
as a stand alone piece outside of a time frame.

c. with cole. its almost unfair to say he only has one album.
since hes had a continuing theme throughout all of his releases.
and i think ive seen the same snapshot over and over again
but thats not to say he cant grow from there.
