      Re: True Fans

So, because I don't support his recent "wackness," I'm not a fan? As someone mentioned earlier, to be a fan, you don't need to be a mindless "dickrider;" I love Lil Wayne, and he will forever be my favorite rapper, but the stuff he is releasing now is abjectly pathetic when compared to the stuff he released in the past. And his new clothing is hideous.

You're still a true fan.. what I think is that you ain't a real fan if you just stop listening too Wayne and leave just because he changed or something he did or said...

imo, not sure if I explained it right...

I still like them, but they are terrible when compared to older material. I would much rather him make songs like La La La, Something You Forgot, Killing Me, Gossip, I'm Me, 3 Peat, Shoot Me Down, Tie My Hands, Let the Beat Build, Playing with Fire, I'm Raw, Real Rap, Scarface, Mr. Carter, Dr. Carter, One Night Only, etc. That being said, I think Tha Carter IV is Lil Wayne's third best album after Tha Carter III and Tha Carter II. I think Tha Carter is a good album (my second favorite Lil Wayne song - I Miss My Dawgs - is on it), but I give the slight edge to Tha Carter IV. Tha Carter IV is simply my favorite album on this website because I typed that it is so.

We have all come to expect greatness from Lil Wayne, and he is no longer supplying us with that greatness. He no longer has that spark. Well, let me rephrase that: he still has that spark, but he refuses to let it burn. He doesn't care anymore; he is more interested in his clothes and in skating than in music. He can still be the Best Rapper Alive, but he can only be that if he wants to be that. Right now, it seems he has no interest in holding that title.

See i agree with this part but i think its because he has THOUSANDS OF SONGS that we dont see that spark becasue he dosent release anything imo

I know we always say this, but we won't know what level he's at until his next project he puts out.. Hopefully he's been working hard on it. Lil Wayne will always be my favorite rapper, I think us fans have the right to have high expectations for him, and demand higher quality music.

                        Re: True Fans

Why is being a fan suddenly being a dickrider? Seriously, what if you've been following Weezy from the beginning and watched him go through changes, and still think he's the best? I must admit that I liked his style way more back in the days with the SQ, Carter 1, Dedication and so on, but I still like him the day today, and I think it's pretty fresh the way he dresses and the way he's able to attract attention and fans when going through a rock and pop phase for example. Does that make me a dickrider?

Making these topics like the OP makes you a dickrider, not being a fan of what he does now.
