Of course it did. Other wise he would still be atleast smoking weed 100% if not other stuff syrup etc as well, who knows. But I feel he has also matured as a person but that once again is because he was forced to and I feel that him picking up the skateboard was a reason for him to keep himself busy. Wayne is a very active person that has to be doing something and tbh I think skating was a way for him to keep himself out of trouble, away from the bad crowd, away from the drugs etc.

Let me make it perfectly clear as well that I am happy enough to get the content he is putting out, and as you said Wish, we still get the odd great stuff from him just not as consistantly. But I would kill for him to get back into Rap like he was back in the day and have the same attitude towards it all, just to prove that he can still do it and he hasn't 'lost' it. At the moment he just can't be bothered and as he said he is bored of it. But one day he will look back and say remember when I done this, remember when I kiled that shit, I wanna have that feeling again of doing something that great and he will. Even if it's just for one song that he comes back and just murders the shit out of it. I promise he will do it.

I just hope he starts smoking again properly like he used to (as some people feel he is smoking, and if he is he isn't doing it like he used to) after probation is over. Because no matter what people say, weed sparks a creative side in everyone, it makes you think different and opens your mind up to some of the most crazy thoughts. Lean is nothing to do with it, that just put a different mood on his music, slow etc.

And lol @ WeezyFan No drug makes you 'smarter' in regards to you saying lean didn't make you smarter . Some drugs play with your brain and react differently with different people especially weed as it's a very high psycho-active substance, which is why it's so powerful for opening the mind.

At the end of the day it's pretty much fact that it was jail etc that pushed him into this part of his life. If he didn't go he would 100% still be smoking and I'm not saying he wouldn't have got bored of rap, but the quality of music we got would certainly of not dropped as low imo.

Either way I'm just happy he is still making music and the odd great piece here and there. I don't feel that we deserve a break from Weezy but he does deserve a break. That being said if thats what he wants, even though it would kill me to not get any material from him, I'd rather him take a break properly and not give half hearted material and albums/mixtapes. Take a proper break, don't release anything. Or maybe leak unreleased old stuff here and there

And even though I hate it when people say it i'll do it without it being all in one word.

In before the 2bobs like Mr X post something like 'Didn't read'...

And in before someone puts 'Didn't read' with a grin face on purpose just because I said the above line. ^

    Night all!

Whatever it is, he needs to do something about it.
I was in 5th grade when weezy was in his prime.
I miss 2007 so fuckin much man I swear.

I think that whole year I didnt pay attention to any other rap artist at all. Not 1.

Yes I believe probation has changed Wayne. He use to spend all his time in the studio smoking weed & making music, and pretty much all he does now is skate. The fact that in the video he said he wasn't finished with D4 because he was too busy skating proves he just doesn't have the passion for music anymore like he did in the past. Back in the day he would've had like 20 songs done just in a day alone.

            Exactly!

I Wish he would release the unreleased songs he recorded back in 06-08

We need to lock Juelz and Wayne in the studio with syrup, Cali, and get some bangers out there.

Wayne has been evolving ever since he started rapping. You can see how much he changed from Hot Boyz to the Carter 3. And then he continued to change. He went from Hot Boyz to Carter to auto tune to rock to skateboarding. Say what you want but Wayne has achieved so much cuz of his different styles. Although lately he's been falling off but I'm happy he's evolving. If Wayne was still on that Hot Boyz shit, he would be like Gucci Mane or some other lower-middle rapper but thankfully Wayne evolved and became Lil Wayne. Who knows what Wayne is going to evolve into next but hopefully it'll be for the better.
I'm about being single, seeing double, making triple

Hot Boyz era Wayne deff has more talent and versatility than Gucci [Everything, Loud Pipes, Beef] (though I'm a fan of Gucci myself).

Best rapper Wayne era > Sqad up Wayne > Hot Boyz Wayne > declining Wayne >>>>>>> Tunechi.

                      it did
i feel like he lost his inspiration
many artists, i believe even he has cited weed is a great inspiration to music
and i understand why they have said that
when i have been high or on another drug, i feel like i understand the music better
but now he is not allowed to do drugs = less inspiration
and i feel like that is a big reason he picked up the board
i'm sure he had seen it before
but he was always high with his homies
now i don't even think they can smoke around him
the skateboard changed him a lot too
the biggest way to see that is the amount of features he has been on this year
he has only been on 27 beats this year as opposed to having done that shortly before the middle of last year
this is probably because he is not in the studio as often because he is on his board all night instead
but i do like most of his features of this year
even that Stevie J interlude was dope

                      edit: fuck that
i give his board most of the blame
he had some dope shit while still sober
Light Up Remix, Fire Flame, Grenade

I think wayne picked up the skateboard so he didnt go back to jail (ex. T.I., Dmx). But the change i've seen the most sense jail is how he has spent his time. Back in 07,08 era and before basically he was doing 1 of two things recording or performing. I really noticed this changed during the nba finals he was at just about all the heat games. And at the Clubs on a nightly basis also. On one D3 skit he says making music is his life. But i that prison made him think maybe there is more to life. And I cant hate the man for enjoying his life. He's worked harder than any rapper i know to be successful so i think he deserves to do what ever he wants now. However as a fan i wish he could still rap with a purpose not just do it to say you did another song.
