atmosphere is a white rapper duo. but the beats are strange, and so is the rappers delivery.
common (used to be known as common sense) is also a good one.
immortal technique is good..hes like angry, and political. pretty dope, even though im not political
little brother uses a lot of samples from like older legendary songs..they are actually really dope.
I like that a lot, the song he has with wayne is dope af as well.

I think I know this Kweli song somehow, it's good indeed.

Common doesn't do much for me from what I've heard, I like his verse on The College Dropout though.
Mos Def is dope on there as well as a matter of fact.

So what would be Kweli's best album? (in your opinion?)

well, "get by" is on his album called "quality" so i might start there if i were you. talib really started out WITH mos def, in a group called "black star" so might wanna peep that, but i thnk someone posted a video or two already of that shit.

you already like some of the songs that been gettin posted..and thats where it starts. if what you are used to is this lil wayne stuff, then youre gonna think the underground shit is garbage. its not polished, the production isnt as "trunk ready" and its not for tv man. its not about swagger, and cars and how many chains you can wear at one time. it takes a little adjusting.

I know, I feel like I'm turning away from the (current) mainstream sound.
It doesn't catch me that much, like it used to.

But basically what happened was, I bought The College Dropout, cause I feel like it's the best Kanye West album.
Then the verse of Mos Def was really good, and I liked Talib as well. So I was like, might check that out later.
There was a line on the album where Kanye goes: "All the fans want is a feeling of A Tribe Called Quest, but all they got left is this guy called West."

Since I knew people praise A Tribe Called Quest a lot, I wanted to see if I liked their music.
I've downloaded 4 of their albums up to now and looking for the last one.
So I like them a lot, and then I stumbled across this thread.

            Downloading Quality as we speak.

nice man. ATCQ is like legendary.. one of the members, called "q-tip" had a small solo breakout (ever heard this song? Q-Tip - Vivrant Thing (Official) [HQ] - YouTube

infact, thats why TIP had to change his name to T.I....cause of q-tip haha. if i had my old harddrive in my computer right now, i could list a lot of underground rap that is easy to listen and get into, but i dont have it right now.

ill give you a really valueable website though. its called allmusic.com. heres a link to talib kweli just for an example. Talib Kweli - Music Biography, Credits and Discography : AllMusic
see, its cool because it lists the discography. and the editors rate the albums, with which one is the best. then you can sample every song (usually, unless its not a well known act) and theres even a biography, and also then a review for every album too. the best part is that if you go onto the "related" tab, itll give you a list of artists SIMILAR to that search!! shit is dope man, and its all really really accurate.

I know Q-tip as far as his name goes, and from his production,
but haven't heard any of his music (apart from ATCQ)

that site is nice though, never heard of it before.
Guess I've got some exploring to do.
                thanks

Saying a Rapper is boring is not enough to call him a bad rapper

Idk why people think that..what's boring to you might not be boring to others..I enjoy hearing complex storytelling rap, everythig don't have to be hype to be good..

I can say Lil Waynes lines are simple, which they are and have always been even when he was great..but that doesn't change that he was a Great rapper

                    lol

Wayne and Mos Def are not even close to comparable. Mos Def is a message rapper, while Wayne is a fun rapper.

That's what alot of these members can't understand. They're not even giving Mos a chance.

Having a better song, Mixtape or album does not mean that you're a better rapper.

If one dude made the best song ever and quit, would he be better than Jay?
