  • I think the rappers of today are scared to say that wayne influenced them

When i look at rappers such as big sean, asap rocky, wiz khalifa, etc......I automatically see wayne, but it seems like no one wants to admit it. I was surprised that wayne was in meek's top 5 tbh Thoughts?

I honestly think that if Wayne stuck with his style from 07-08, hip hop would have been different.

    I know that's a big statement, but that's just what I think.

Lil Wayne WAS hip hip during that time.

Hip Hop now is so... idk, universal now? if that's the right word.

Yeah, all those new and upcoming rappers are just influenced by Wayne...it's like Wayne son'ed them lol....srsly tho, this is a true statement.

Or maybe it's coz wayne rapped in too styles that now we see him on every rapper that raps with a certain style? Maybe..

Even though Lil Wayne wasn't the first to sip lean, after him there were and still are tons of rappers that sip lean. Like there was a huge epidemic when he started.

2 Chainz is like a carbon copy of 2007 Wayne with the style.

Wayne influenced every single new rapper. I said it.

The whole generation of 20s rappers are Lil Wayne's sons and they dont have to admit it, especially Wiz and ASAP... we already know.

Idk about wiz being influenced by wayne, literally all wiz's songs are about weed, where wayne usually includes weed/lean in his songs

but very few are focused on it. As for every other of the 20 new rappers yeah wayne was heavy in their influence. As for why they dont

say it, probably because most of them were born in the 80s along with Wayne so its probably too close of an age difference and every

rapper always goes with biggie and 2pac

i'd agree with this for the most part. but i also don't really see the wiz/wayne thing other than that they're both covered in tattoos. i don't feel like their lyrics or flows are too similar.
