"Armed and dangerous, rich and famous, young and restless
Guns and stretchers
Cristal and dubs for breakfast
I just got one suggestion - none should test him
'Cause cuz get hectic; send one through your sons intestines
Glocks knock lungs from chests, you get the portrait?
Bodies piled up on porches, it won't be gorgeous"
Yeah, don't like this thread
And it's been discussed o many times
And the blog recently had a poll which showed his best era
Over 40% chose 07-09 as his best years
That had the most votes than any other era
It's also the one I chose
I recently listened to all his Featurings from 2007-2012 and now I'm not thinking he fell off as hard as they made it sound, if anything he's a newer improved Wayne(only counting music, not lifestyle)
2007=getting to the peak(Beat w/o Bass, Duffle Bag Boy)
2008=Lots of classics(Swagga Like Us, Ransom)
2009=Too much singing, but a few bangers(Money to Blow, Turn My Swag On, Im Goin In)
2010=my fav(Inkredible, Fire Flame, Blood Niggaz)
2011-2012=Lots of hits and replay value(Im on One, Look at Me Now, Bandz a Make Her Dance,)
He had so many progressional styles that were so uncorrelated from the previous ones, it was literally unbelievable.... 1999-2009...with the exception of 2008 which was mainstream oriented, but about 5-6 songs made up for that(like "damn I'm cold)..........I simply don't get bored listening to him because I can choose between any one of those years and it's like a different rapper each time yet....of course this doesn't go without say that some of his years are superior than his others....for me his "best" year was hands down 2005...in the last couple of months of 04 to beginning of 05 the style was a far superior derivative of "Tha Carter" style..which was damn amazing(hence why YM Mixtape is my favorite tape).....towards mid 05 his lyricism matured and he stuck with that style till end of 2005....which was the "Carter II" style..... what I still can't understand is how huge of a change it was....and this was a reoccurring transition each year....still amazes me how someone can evolve their style that rapidly....
