For me Wayne was in his prime in his C2 times, in his C3 times he had much fame and so and was still a beast at rapping but not better than in C2.

or when he went to jail , but 2011 wasnt bad for him. i think he was in his prime in 2007-8 and after that it's the end of his prime 78bh...but the worse year for wayne was for real 2012.

after How To Love dropped...which was a good song, his image and style just changed around that time.

I'd say Dedication 3 was the last thing he dropped in his prime.

To me his prime spanned from 2001 - 2008
"Armed and dangerous, rich and famous, young and restless
            Guns and stretchers
            Cristal and dubs for breakfast
I just got one suggestion - none should test him
'Cause cuz get hectic; send one through your sons intestines
Glocks knock lungs from chests, you get the portrait?
Bodies piled up on porches, it won't be gorgeous"

Lil Wayne started to lose his hunger when he went to jail.

To me that's when his "prime" ended =/

Listen to Dey Kno remix from 2008, he said it himself he was in his prime lol
There's a difference between falling off and ending a prime. Only reason people say he fell Off is because he dramatically changed his style from 08 to 2010

2004-2007...his straight vicious years....nobody in the history of rap has progressed so rapidly like that...but it was definitely after jail that he was no longer that hungry Wayne......2008-2009 are years I still include in his prime just because of a few songs(Demolitions) and no ceilings...He realized that he was "falling off" so he went ape on no ceilings..........

                    2009.

But if you're referring to prime as in presence in hip hop etc then that's still going on.

His best years were 2004-2008, in 2009 he was still good. End of his prime was in 2008.

Without a doubt IMO. I think he surpassed what he thought he would be, but obviously only he can answer that question. I guess "skys the limit" so he could have climbed even higher from a lyrical point of view but we all know great artists evolve, mature, life moves on and they go down different ventures and experiences.
