most people would say around 1999 to 2003 was his prime ,most hip hop heads would say his first album 1996 to 2003 but me i think jayz hit his prime around 2006 to present his first album came out when he was 27 he is a example of that you get better as your get older he's 43 now and i think he is in his prime now he's better than he has every been!!! eminem to i think 2009 - present eminem is better tha the 2000-2005 eminem those 2 get better as they got older but they both retired for some years maybe the same will happen to wayne after he retires

To me, jail was what ended wayne's prime. And if you think about it from Wayne's point it makes complete sense. Jail made him realize that there is more to life than just the studio, and he should start enjoying it with the money he's made, hence the skating, and deteroirated music quality. He's not spending as much time in the studio as he used to, which means he isnt pushing himself as hard as used to, which means creativity has gone down.


Us fans may not like how he's running out of topics and not focusing as much on music, but if you think about from his point of view. He's been doin this shit for a loooong ass time, he achieved more than 99% of people can only dream about, so now he's past hip hop, and onto other aspects of life.
