Like I said, in my opinion D5 is over rated, just goes to show how stale Weezy's music has become - he releases a half decent mix tape and people think he's back to his normal self.

see i didnt care for c4 at all. and i remember the conversations of c3 not being what his earlier material was, so i think theres some revisionist history w the feelings people have for carter 3 cos of the sales and the grammies. (not that it wasnt good, but it wasnt the sessions, it wasnt drought 3. but those were the comments at the time)

so in my opinion, i see dedication 5 as his largest densest concentration of work in a very long time. id say something like ianhb2 is something half decent, you saw him reaching into his bag, here and there, but not something so full force as dedication 5.

i think hes more reaching into a dedication 2 bag.. than anything. obviously not the same level..

but from the approach, the content, the concise sharp writing.. the pace of his flows.

and his performance is spot on, on just about every track. he sounds alive, energetic. hes bringing a physical energy to the raps. he wasnt doing that w the same energy on the most recent tapes.

    his swiftness came back,

essentially, it just sounded like wayne was rounding into rap shape.

    idk

is that enough to make a good tape in 2013, when everyones making free original music.. idk.

but as an honest mixtape w nothing but raps on it. i think its pretty damn strong.

naw not at all. maybe a hook here and there, but lyrically, and rap perforamance wise.. i think thats one of his worst albums.

songs like mirror and president carter dont do anything for me.

        super contrived, commercial pop efforts.

megaman and blunt blowing are just unoriginal. just rehashes of some old sounds that worked for him, and he wasnt especially good on either.

6 foot 7 foot is the same deal, but he actually tried.

nightmares on the bottom was cool live, but thats not really a stand out track.

he did nothign special on she will.

how to love was cool for what it was. he pulled it off, and made it work. even if its still corny at the end of the day.

how to hate was a bad idea.

its hard.. for the interludes to matter.. when the rest of the album is so meh..

        john was my favorite track.

abortion was pretty cool..but nothign outstanding... i love the original version of that hook tho.

so special was corny. its good whatever,

        then the outro?

yeah.. i didnt walk away from carter 4 like i listened to anything impressive.

Y'all need to give him a break.

He's done. His life is not making music and entertaining y'all. That's not a life. He made his mark and gave you Drake, now be grateful. He fell off ever since Dedication 4, and I think he wants out.

"You retire out when you die out."

"When you become a machine, people require work from that machine."

You guys are borderline obsessed with this man, I mean I wouldn't go that far but. I remember when D5 was first released, I mean on the first day most of the instrumentals weren't even real ones, they were remakes. That's how much he doesn't care, his engineers and producers eventually threw on the real beats a week later but come on, that's not right.

This dude has been touring and living in the spotlight for years, I mean that shit can get old. It seems like such an amazing life but it takes a toll on you. I've been in to music and the industry all my life and that lifestyle is not something you can lead forever. It eventually spits you out. The constant drug use and pressure really sucks no matter who you are, even a dude like Wayne.

I hope he releases a C5 and then leaves.

Who the fuck wants to be like Jay-Z anyway, dudes almost 50 years old still acting like a teenager.

              quality>quantity
i dont want him to release an album every year...he used to do that but it aint 2005 anymore
I really hope he work on C5 and C5 only....and i dont need it soon may be in like 2 years or something cuz a legend like Wayne need to retire with a classic album to conclude/sum up his career cuz he NEED to retire on top of his game.

                .

i agree with most of what you said, but this part.

i actually think him remaking the beats was him caring. he probably couldnt get his hands on the real instrumentals.

but he wanted to rap on these major songs, and not just major in terms of.. how commercial( kinda like s4tw) they were.. but the rappers who rapped on them.

he rapped on kendrick beats, kanye beats, he rapped w chance, arguably the best new comer

he rapped on drakes shit, he rapped on jays shit.

he rapped typaway, which was huge.

he rapped on uoeno, which was huge.

everyone knows meek mills raps hard, and he raps on levels.

then he goes and wraps on cream?

idk, just by looking at the beat selection alone, id say he cared pretty deeply. he was trying to make an impression.

See C3 still had GOAT tracks like tie my hands, 3peat, playing with fire etc... I also think C4 was pretty shit compared to his better work, and such an underwelming album for what we expected from Weezy fresh from his prison stint. But the reason I'd compare the style of D5 to C4 more is because all the tracks have some good bars and some very dud ones - showing that Weezy is very un focused and disinterested, whereas C3 still had THAT passion and fire we all know and love from Weezy. But songs like novacane show he can still make fairly origional tracks with meaning, and songs like. Up up and away still show he can flow like a motherfucker when he wants to.

IMO D5 was very unfocused (again, compared to his best work. Don't get me wrong, its still a lot better than his recent hot garbage) songs like don't kill, new slaves etc just seem rushed and very bland. After Jay Z and Kendrick absolutly demolish the track, Wayne comes across as very half assed and with nothing new to say. Just my opinion. That's not to say D5 was not a step back towards greatness, because it had a few very good tracks that I didn't expect from this 'new age' bored and uninspired Weezy wee.

I'll agree with that. I don't even touch C4 anymore and haven't for ages. Not a very good album IMO. Some songs were nice, she will was a banger but majority of the album was pretty meh really.

He's not out of his mind, he's absolutly correct. C4 was not what it should have been. It was - for the most part - shit. Come on, Weezy was fresh from jail, had the whole hip hop world at his feet, had the perfect platform to drop a classic album and shut every single hater up for good, and he drops this mediocre at best album.

Intro was full of kiddy bars and a boring flow, blunt blowing was a lazy attempt at sounding 'epic' with the most pointless hook ever lol. Mega man 'great lyrics'? Really? 'Have it your way, burger king'... THAT is not great, its lazy and immature. His supadupa hashtag rap style is awful even if the track did have some GOAT bars, they are outshined by the laughable ones.

She will, again, lazy ass boring bars - saved only by drakes hook. (There's even a video online of him making the track, sending it to Drake for his opinion and even drake just says 'I can't hear what your saying on it but some of it sounds dope etc' - aka being a yes man lol).

How to love is a great song, but again its not hip hop! So special is awful, a waste of some great john legend vocals. How to hate is only good if you have just split up with your girlfriend lol.

Best album ever? Really? Even you don't believe that bro, surely? LoooL.

"Have it your way, burger king" is a refference from a commerical that works out perfect there, but im sorry you might not think its great cus the lyrics aint the same like a Eminem/Pac/Nas song or whatever. U know diffrent rap style/lyrics can be great too.
'Blunt blowin was a lazy attempt at sounding epic', nah dude its one of his best songs the verses is crazy. And all the other stuff u wrote is just bullshit.

Yeh i think its the best album ever made, together with C2 and if you gonna laugh about my opinion/music taste then fuck you.

Maybe that have it your way burger king was an okay line but "Tunechi in this bitch nigga, yall niggas bitch niggas" or "Where them bad bitches at? Come and put that pussy on me" are just trash lyrics. Wayne always had goat intros but on C4 it was just rly bad, and Nas on the outro had the best verse on the whole album lol. I only play sometimes President Carter, John and Mirror from that album, rest was only enjoyable when the C4 hype was, now it is just meh.
