  • Was Wayne ever respected like Kendrick is being now

I never got to witness Wayne at his prime, because I was like 6-9 years old
    Thats why Im wondering.
Cuz all the "hip hop heads" hate him, but they love Kendrick
But did Wayne ever get respect like Kendrick is getting now?

    I hate them thirsty bitches
    Cut them off like circumcision

He was slept on but amongst other rappers he was pretty well respected...Like it was either you loved him or didn't really care for him...not to confuse "didn't really care" with "he sucked" but other artists at the time were overshadowing Wayne prior to 07...like T.I... I honestly didn't start appreciating his music till Drought 3....

Yes, in my area he was. I was probably 12 in 2007 and everyone had a bunch of C3 Sessions on their i-Pods (I Feel Like Dying, Pussy Money Weed, A Milli) and I remember everyone in the locker room talking about how "Wayne doesn't even write his shit, he just goes in and talks". I wasn't really into rap back then, but I remember hearing that and I was like, "Holy fuck, this guy named Lil Wayne must be good".

If you look at old forums from then about DD3 and other shit, then you will see.

yes he was but why care about "hip hop heads" opinions?

they fav rappers are all bald and wrinkly by now

the real goat rappers expand and "hip hop heads" hate that for some reason

am talking about rappers like wayne, drake, eminem, kanye, nicki, jay, etc
